Could it be? ((Part 7))

~Sonic's Point of View-

I waited for Shadow to come downstairs after me... and sure enough, he eventually came down to join me. I smiled as I glanced over the couch's back and held my tongue as I watched him make his way downstairs, a hand on the railing as he traveled gracefully to the first floor... I felt my face redden ever so slightly as I noticed the finer details on him... Like his ebony fur with strikes of red glistening in the sunlight... His crimson eyes locking on me from afar... That mysterious smirk of his... Ugh, it almost drove me insane a little bit just watch him, but I snapped out of my daydream like state before I cleared my throat nervously, eyeing him...

"Enjoying the show?" He asked, obviously teasing me.

"Pfftt.." I tried to play it cool like I always did... I then sighed happily as he came by and sat beside me... I watched the screen of the live television and couldn't help but smile a little. "Just a little bit," I admitted, tilting my head a little as I glanced over at what I guess would be my new boyfriend...

"Then don't be afraid to look more.." He gave a low, suggestive growl which only made me blush harder as I noticed he was getting close... My body tensed up a little before I gave a nervous chuckle, fighting my body's urges to give into him...

"Pfffftt..." I blew another raspberry, rolling my eyes. "When are you gonna go shop with Rouge, Mister?"

Shadow pulled back a little as I mentioned that and he then glanced over his shoulder, eyeing the clock on the wall... It only read 11:21 AM... "Eh, I guess within a few minutes from now? She hates waiting." He says gently, he then suddenly wore that serious expression he would wear when something was bothering him or he had questions about... So I gently placed a hand upon one of his knees and gave it a tender squeeze.

"I've seen that look before... So what's up?"

"...Just thinking." He admits, eyeing me for a few seconds.

"Just because we were once rivals doesn't mean you gotta keep all your thoughts and secrets away from me. Heck, I let you do whatever you wanted to me last night. So the least you can do is just tell me what you're "just thinking' about." I said, feeling my lips curl into a smile, watching his expression change from serious to an annoyed deadpan... Which amused me greatly.

"Damn you.." He whispered just loud enough for me to hear it. He then sighed in defeat and turned towards me completely... I studied his expressions as he began to speak. "I was thinking... Just how... We'd ever even express ourselves around the others." He started. "Like how can I tell Rouge that I found myself falling for you? Or how will you tell Tails that you like me...?" He then sighed. "Just... that is what I was thinking about and I couldn't help but be a little concerned a bit... People change and get all sorts of feelings when it comes to this type of situation..."

I nodded gently, understanding completely. "I guess there's only one way we can really get out to them. Is if we faced them together... And just explained that it just... came out of the blue." I smiled. "And if they are really our friends then they'd accept it, regardless."

"...Yeah but I don't want them to hurt you Sonic.."

That caught me off guard a little, causing me to pause as I stared shyly up at Shadow... "...Y-you're worried about lil' ol' me?"

"Of course I am." Shadow started, looking away at first before he took my hands and gave them a squeeze, making direct eye contact with me. "Sonic... After last night I realized that I wanted to give you everything... You are literally my everything right now.. and I don't want them to hurt your feelings or even you... Homophobia is a terrible thing and it causes a lot of issues for everybody..."

I felt touched as he spoke about caring about me so much... I couldn't help but smile shyly and look away for a few seconds. "Aw... Shad..~" I laughed a little before I looked happily up at him. "That's actually very sweet of you to say... But just know I feel the same exact way towards you..." I happily responded, but I did really mean it... Shadow was going to be my everything too after what happened between us last night... Eventually, it rolled around to be 12:40ish and Shadow went ahead and decided to leave to go help Rouge with her little shopping spree... He thanked me for a place to crash for the night and the good time I gave him... I couldn't help but grin a little as I waved him goodbye from my house... I sighed as I felt finally alone at last... I already felt bored... So without much thought, I slipped on my shoes which were still in the same spot where I left them yesterday and took out for a little journey myself... I didn't want to go terribly far away, like around the world... I already did that a month ago and I don't want to tread on water just at this moment... So I went to the place where I felt more at home compared to others... Green Hill Zone.

Once I broke through the changing landscape of giant skyscrapers and busy streets, I inhaled the fresh scent of Green Hill Zone... It's patterned grass always was interesting to me... I took my place underneath a tree which would gently sway to and thro with the wind, totem poles on either side of it... I tucked my arms behind my head and began to relax... However, it wasn't long that I ended up falling asleep with the gentle breeze and summer heat making me all sorts of comfortable phases... I don't know how long I had been out because I slowly awoke by a sound which was all too familiar to me... Someone was nearby and when I opened my eyes to scan the area, it was already Sunset... I glanced to my right and I sighed in relief.

"Oh, you're awake?"

"Well, you kind of woke me up... But eh, long enough nap~" I kept my arms behind my head as a sort of pillow, grinning a little while I watched Shadow cross his arms and keep his place beside me, standing over me almost.

"So how was it?" I asked, uncrossing my legs from one another, stretching them out before myself a little.

"Awful." Shadow bluntly stated, which only amused me.

"How so, buddy?" I looked up at him curiously.

"It was some sale going on in Emerald Mall. Had I known that, I'd never agreed.... There were so many people... Not to mention fans... I had a pen and paper shoved into my direction every damn second..." He grumbled.

"Ohhh" I laughed a little. "You gotta get used to that," I said with a wink. "I like the attention."

"That's because you are a little attention whore."

"Excuse me?" I asked, taken aback a little before I noticed the smirk on his lips when he turned towards me, uncrossing his arms as he got down to my level.

"You heard me..." He said quietly, he then forced my chin up with a finger and forced me into a kiss, which I happily melted into... Soon enough he had me on my back against the grass, planting kisses on my chest and muzzle, which only caused me to whimper in excitement, I shut my eyes, expecting more... "However though..." He whispered into my peachy belly, I opened one of my eyes to look down at him in an embarrassed manner. "You're quite the whore in other ways too..."

I couldn't hold back the sudden laugh that erupted from my throat... For an old fart, he knew how to joke a bit... I then smirked, reaching down, running my fingers through his quills and massaging at one of his ears. "Well jeez... Go tell the whole world then~" I joked as I watched him lean into my hand in a gentle, loving manner... He then pulled my hand away and kissed the back of my gloved hand lovingly, which only made me blush in the process... Gawd I love this man.
